If you or an AYP member you know has a financial crisis, AYP is ready to help.
"When the EAF check arrived, I burst into tears. It was such an emotional relief. EAF was a critical juncture in providing the support we needed. The Y is an important part of my life and we cannot thank enough for the support we have received."
- Sandy Wirt, YMCA Student Programs at the YMCA at Virginia Tech
For more than a century the Emergency Assistance Fund has provided financial aid when an accident, illness, death of a loved one, disaster or other crisis strikes. Grants of up to $10,000 are made to active and retired Y professionals, as well as immediate dependant family members. No individual may receive a grant greater than $10,000 in one year.
The Fund is supported exclusively by the very people it helps - YMCA professionals. $238,000 was awarded to YMCA Professionals across the country in 2011. More than 2,000 active Y professionals and retirees contribute to the Fund each year.
